Antonia Ramis Miguel opens Miguel’s Atelier doors to share her years of experience as an artist and the skills accumulated in those years of passion for art to offer painting, drawing classes, and different ways of making art. “The method and relationship teacher/student/studio is the base of my passion for teaching; where the studio becomes a temple like space for our creative mind”.
Part of my passion is to create and offer that authentic art space where one’s creativity feels stimulated even by only stepping inside. The teacher’s own art is being created in that same space; and with that, the student can also feel involved and observe the art process and works in progress of the teacher. Artistic interaction and conversation has a paved road. It’s an experience of sharing/teaching/learning/creating and a personal gratification for me, to help and guide others to learn and achieve their goals and needs in the practice of art making.
All my training as an artist was done in Mallorca, Spain in the traditional European atelier style. The interaction between students in the ongoing lessons was also part of the enriching experience of learning. Instruction is given one on one, even with a studio full of students. Teaching and guidance is adapted to each student for their individual needs.
No previous experience is required to take lessons with us; only love for art making or the desire to learn. In our classes we will have a variety of levels of experience and every student will be working in their choice of subject matter. Composition, value, volume, color mixing, brushwork, observation, etc. are skills we will work on. As a whole it will be a warm and comfortable atmosphere for learning and practicing art. With many years of teaching I have also witness over and over the therapeutic benefits among others of art making. Working on a painting or drawing does have the power to make us forget about everything else.
